A juvenile has been killed in the Colorado mountain community of Gyspum.

The Eagle County Sheriff's Office responded to an incident at the town's Second Street Park on Wednesday following the report of a disturbance that involved several people with multiple individuals injured, one of whom was a seriously injured teenager.

A juvenile suspect had also reportedly fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

The seriously injured teenager was transported from the scene for life-saving treatment, but succumbed to their injuries.

Authorities were able to locate and arrest the suspect, with a homicide investigation underway.

The sheriff's office has asked that anyone who was at the park at the time of the incident contact them for witness reports and any additional information that could be provided at 970-328-8500.

"We thank the community for their patience and understanding during this extremely difficult time for all involved," wrote the sheriff's office in a press release on the matter. "As this is an active investigation, we have no additional information to release at this time."

Condolences go out to those impacted by this juvenile death.
