It's no secret that Aspen is known around the world for being a great slopesport destination, but according to the results of the recently released OnTheSnow Visitor's Choice Awards, there's more than just great ski runs to be found in Pitkin County, Colorado.

When it came to the visitor's choice awards for the 2023-2024 ski season, Aspen Snowmass ended up taking the top prize in the 'best après-ski' category among all North American ski spots. For those unfamiliar with this French term, it basically translates to 'after skiing' and these days, it tends to involve socialization, food, and alcoholic beverages near the slopes. As a perk of attending après-ski, many restaurants and bars will offer food and drink discounts during the afternoon.

One popular spot for après-ski in the area is Snowmass Mall, where multiple restaurants and shops can be found.

It's also worth noting that Aspen Snowmass won the 'best overall resort' when the awards were handed out in 2022.

Meanwhile, Telluride won 'best overall resort' this year, Winter Park won the 'most family-friendly ski resort' award, Breckenridge won 'best terrain parks,' and Wolf Creek won 'best small ski area.'

“OnTheSnow users leave thousands of reviews each ski season for the resorts they've visited,” said Chad Dyer, Managing Director of Mountain News, publishers of OnTheSnow. “The Visitors’ Choice Awards are the culmination of the ski season, when we get to honor those resorts that OnTheSnow users have rated the top in North America.”
