Farmers markets offer everything from fruits and vegetables to handmade baked goods and crafts. According to USA Today, the amount of farmers markets in the U.S. is steadily growing, with more than 8,600 registered in the USDA Farmers Market Directory.

Nominated by an expert panel and voted on by readers, USA Today's 10Best highlights the country's best in destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. USA Today recently published a list of the best farmers markets across the country, and one Colorado market made the list.

The Palisade Sunday Farmers Market came in seventh place. The farmers market is sponsored by the town and is open from June to October. The market provides fresh produce and a variety of artisan products, as well as live music and local food trucks nearby. The market will take place from June 2 through Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Palisade, on Third and Main Streets.

Worthington Farmers Market in Ohio got first place. It adapts to the seasons and takes place year-round, with almost 100 vendors from the Columbus area.
