With its exciting activities and stunning views, Colorado's Royal Gorge is the perfect thrilling summer adventure. The gorge is 1,200 feet deep and ten miles long, carved over millions of year by the Arkansas River.

Located just a few minutes' drive from Canon City, the Royal Gorge offers plenty thrill-seeking activities. The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park is home to America's highest suspension bridge, which you can cross on foot. The bridge consists of 1,257 wooden planks and 4,100 steel cables suspended 956 feet over the Arkansas River.

As well as the bridge, the area has many other adventurous activities. The Via Ferrata course is a climbing system that leads participants through massive granite walls on a cable system. Guests swing 1,200 feet over the edge of the Royal Gorge on the Royal Rush Skycoaster, sweeping through the fresh mountain air. There's also the Cloudscraper Zip Line which will also fly you 1,200 feet over the Arkansas River. And if you're looking for a more relaxing experience, you can enjoy the views from the aerial gondola.

In addition to the thrilling park attractions, several outfitters run rafting trips down the Arkansas River, and they'll take you right under the famous bridge. The trips consist of exhilarating whitewater rapids, stunning views of the canyons, and you might even spot some wildlife.
