commerce city kidnapping suspects

Commerce City police are searching for the identity of two suspects who allegedly attempted to steal two vehicles, shot at a car owner and kidnapped a person in another carjacking on Friday evening.

Police in Commerce City are trying to catch two suspects in a carjacking and kidnapping Friday night.

The Commerce City Police Department said it started around 6:30 p.m., when two men tried to steal two vehicles near Fairfax Park at East 69th Avenue and Fairfax Drive.

The owner of the second vehicle confronted them, according to police, and as the suspects left one of them shot at the owner and missed.

The suspects then carjacked another vehicle and kidnapped the person inside, police said. When it ran out of gas in Northglenn, they ran off.

The carjacking victim was OK, police said.

Anyone with information that could help police catch the suspects is asked to call the Commerce City Police Department's tip line at 303-289-3626. Anyone who sees them is asked to stay away and call 911 immediately. Police said they are armed and dangerous.
